Google Chrome Review

September 3, 2008

Google Chrome Screenshot

Google Chrome is available for download. Like everyone, with a lot of curiosity, I downloaded and installed.

It took roughly 2 minutes to install the browser. It is done. Imported all my IE bookmarks. Could not import Mozilla bookmarks. No Idea why could not I import Mozilla bookmarks.

In first five minutes I found the following.

  • The look and feel is cool. No toolbars now.
  • Address bars are below the tabs.
  • Auto hiding status bar.
  • Nice task manger.
  • Simple options dialog with just three tabs.
  • I could see YouTube videos without installing any plug-ins.

Just one more browser in the line. Let us take some more time to check the features.

Google Chrome is better than IE but not better than Mozilla .
Less options are available to compared to Mozilla. Comparing the speed of display , Mozilla is good and Chrome comes next . Only on memory utilization Chrome comes little better than Mozilla . I prefer Mozilla .

Thanks Deepak for your comments. As you said, this is not the time to do a comparative review.

Let Chrome come with more options, toolbars, then we would be able to see the real difference.

Whatever we are getting are just impressions.
