We all know that Google provides shortcuts for most of the actions in GMail and Google Reader.
For example, GMail provide shortcuts like,
- c – Compose
- /- Search
- r – Reply
- f - Forward
These shortcuts can be found here GMail Shortcuts and Google Reader Shortcuts. But while composing some mail, we can’t always visit this link to find a shortcut. I feel that it is difficult.
So what is the easy solution for this? Google gives an easier way to find keyboard shortcuts.
? Key is the solution for this.
Yes, you can get Google Keyboard shortcuts by pressing ? key in your keyboard.
Login to GMail or Google Reader and press ? key in the keyboard. You will get all keyboard shortcuts like below.

Conference talk is one of most often used feature in internet. Users wish to have conference talk with their friends and family online. Now a days most of us are using GTalk. One of the limitations in GTalk is, we can’t do conference talk in GTalk. This always force the users to use Yahoo. I still wonder why don’t Gtalk support conference talk?
There is a way to do a conference in GTalk. This can be achieved by launching multiple instances of GTalk. GTalk allows us to launch multiple GTalk instances (this is not being supported by yahoo). Do the following to get multiple instances.
Way 1: To edit existing Google Talk shortcut
- Right click on the Google Talk shortcut.
- On the contextual menu, click on Properties.
- Go to Shortcut tab on Properties window.
- On the Target textbox, add in the /nomutex to the end of the line so that it looks like the following. “c:\program files\google\google talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex or you can simply copy and paste the above syntax and replace the original.
- Click on OK.
Way 2: To create a new shortcut for Google Talk
- Right-click on the desktop or anywhere you want to place the GTalk shortcut.
- Select New on the right click context menu.
- Then select Shortcut.
- Copy and paste the following line to the text box when prompted to type the location of the item: “c:\program files\google\google talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex
- Click on Next.
- Give the shortcut a proper name (e.g. Google Talk or Google Talk Multiple)
- Click OK until you are done.
Now you can launch multiple instances of GTalk by clicking your newly created/modified GTalk icon.
How to have a conference talk in GTalk?
Let us say Person A, B and C want to have conference through GTALK. Then each one have to launch two instances of GTalk (say A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1, C2)
If they call each other in the following fashion then they are in conference call in Gtalk.

GTalk Conference
A1 - B1, A2 - C1 and B2 - C2
When you do Google Search, you can find “Personalized results 1-10 of about 1,950,000,000″ (look at the screenshot given above) in top right of the first page. Normally we will be interested on the first 3 or 4 results displayed in the first page. If we don’t get what we want, then we change the search string and will search again.
I found a Weird behaviour from Google that, when I kept on clicking next, next, next… it went up to 99(approximately) pages and ended. It is not necessary to click next, next, instead you can jump by 10 pages, or even you can change the URL to go to directly 99th (approx) page.
What you will notice is, for all Google Searches, it will not go more than 100 pages. But still it displays 991-1000 of 1,950,000,000 you will not see the 1001st result.
It also displays at the last page as follows “repeat the search with the omitted results included.” When you click this and repeat the search you will again get only 1000 results or 100 pages approximately. It will not display more than 1000(approximately) results.
I don’t understand this feature (???) of Google. Or is it a bug in Google? If Google is not displaying the 101st page, then why should it display 1-10 of 1,950,000,000? Does it mean that Google is giving false information? Can someone explain on this strange behaviour of Google?
