Carrier IQ is a piece of software installed on millions of mobile phones that logs everything their users do, from what websites they browse to what their text messages say.

Though this has been used for a long time, it raised some privacy concerns in the US.

Turning of this on your iPhone is pretty simple.

Go to Settings => General => About => Diagnostics and Usage

and tap Don’t Send.

Job done.

However, this software is not used by any network providers in the UK.
