Halloween day, 31 Oct 2009, was a fun filling day in Bristol. The city centre was filled with zombies. The Halloween day parade in the evening was the highlight. I could manage to capture five min clip with my iPhone.

Less lighting and 3MP camera resulted a not so great clip. However, you could feel the theme of the event from the video.

Google releases logos to celebrate few important events/days.

This year, for Halloween Day celebration, October 31, Google released more than one Google logo.

Twitter Redesign

Twitter today, 29 July 2009, unveiled the new interface. It is pretty good with top searches on the home page.

cnet Webware awards have been announced for the year 2009.

There were 300 websites selected for the final round under 10 different categories and published for public vote.

• Commerce
• Communications
• Infrastructure and storage
• Location-based services
• Photo and video
• Productivity
• Search and reference
• Social and publishing

There is also an 11th category introduced called Editor’s awards. This is not released to public to vote; but only the cnet Editors were allowed to vote.

Google India Election Centre

15th General elections of India – the largest democratic event in human history. All public News Channels, leading News Papers have already got into the discussion and conducting so many surveys. Google also joins in the row to have election fever.

Google today, 06 April 2009,  announced the launch of the Google India Elections Centre in partnership with Hindustan Times. This is a milestone in Indian election history.

Google India blog says,

People from across India can use the centre to do the following:

• Confirm their voter registration status
• Discover their polling location
• View their constituency on a map
• Consume relevant election-related news, blogs, videos, and quotations
• Evaluate the status of development in their constituency across a range of indicators
• Learn about the background of their Member of Parliament and this year’s candidates
