After more than two years a Total Solar Eclipse is going to happen.

01 Aug 2008, a total Solar Eclipse will take place as the moon comes directly between the Sun and Earth.

This can be visible on in the following areas northern Canada, middle of Russia, western Mongolia, and China.

If you want to see the Total Solar Eclipse then go to Exploratorium and play live web cast video.

The live web cast starts at 10:30 UT on Friday, August 1, 2008(4:00 PM in India, 11:30 AM in London and 3:30 AM in San Francisco).

If you miss this one, you will have to wait till 22 July 2009 to see a Total Solar Eclipse.

13 July 2006, is the day I started this blog with a story which came as a mail forward. The reason for starting this blog itself is to avoid mail forwarding. But latter on, I started updating with whatever I liked. So there is no scope defined for my blog. I don’t often write blogs. I could not even believe that I had finished a year. I look forward your support, comments.

The new list of 7 wonders is released by www.new7wonders.com on 07-07-07. This list is selected by a private organization started by a business man Bernard Weber. There are several lists prepared under different categories by several organizations. The new set of 7 wonders is purely based on public vote. Most of these votes are through Internet, SMS and telephonic votes.

The only wonder from Ancient Word Wonders is Pyramid of Giza. As this is the only wonder still exists, www.new7wonders.com gave a special status, Honorary Status, for Pyramid of Giza.

One more fact is that, UNESCO is not being a part of this selection. A press release from UNESCO World Heritage states that, “The list of the 7 New Wonders of the World will be the result of a private undertaking, reflecting only the opinions of those with access to the internet and not the entire world. This initiative cannot, in any significant and sustainable manner, contribute to the preservation of sites elected by this public.”

Anyways, our TajMahal is also listed in the new 7 wonders. So let’s all celebrate this.
