Sardar – A proud patriot

Indian_Flag_Pole

One fine day in London, a Sikh was walking down the road and he passes by the Indian embassy, as he was passing by he saw the Indian flag hoisted on the high pole right in front of the embassy.

Now as patriotic Sardars are, he saluted the Indian flag and was about to walk away when a British standing by stopped him and asked him why he saluted Indian flag.

The British told the Sikh, the Indian flag does not represent any colour of Sikhism in the flag; the saffron is of Hindus, Green for Muslims,White for Jains, the Dark blue circle for Buddhists.

As to why he was saluting, the answer was quite simple because it took lots of sacrifices by the Indians including Sikhs to gain the freedom and the right to hoist the flag of Independent India anywhere.

As to what represents the Sikhs, the Sardar asked the British, “Do you see that 20 foot high pole with the help of which the Indian flag is strutting high in the air ? ”

The British said, Yes… So ?

Well Mate, the Sardar replied, that Pole Represents Us !!!
