There is nothing to see in Orkut except blank doughnuts box

April 20th, 2012 No comments

Long long ago, so long ago (???) you would have used Orkut. Do you remember this social networking website?

I logged in to Orkut after a very long time to find one of my friends.

I got this blank doughnut box.

Nothing-to-see-in-Orkut

There is nothing to see here.

Alexa.com gives the decreasing trend of Orkut; not a surprise though.

Surprising fact – Three countries in the world to join Metric System

June 21st, 2011 No comments

Metric system

Are you aware of the fact that there are only three countries in the world that are yet to adopt/follow SI Metric System as their primary or sole system of measurement.

The International System of Units is the modern form of the metric system and is generally a system of units of measurement devised around seven base units and the convenience of the number ten. (Wiki)

It is the world’s most widely used system of measurement, both in everyday commerce and in science.

Myanmar (Burma), Liberia, and the United States of America are the three countries not following SI system.

I am surprised to see why USA is yet to adopt the international standard!!!

What happen to your iPhone when you leave it in parked car?

May 26th, 2011 No comments

What happen to your iPhone when you keep it on Microwave Oven? LOL :)

What happen to your iPhone when it is kept in parked car?

Recently I left my iPhone in my car at parking area. Couple of hours latter I realized, and went back to my car and shocked when I looked at the phone display.

This is what will happen to your iPhone if you keep it on parked car.

It states “iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it”. Also the surface of the phone was very hot.

I did not know what to do then; just kept it on Freezer (crazy…) to cool down the temperature for 5 minutes :) And it came back to normal state. I would not recommend you to do this, as the phone gets cool down if you keep it in normal/room temperature.

Then searched on Apple site to understand the reason for such behavior and found some interesting points…

Keep points are…

Store the device in a place where the temperature is between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave the device in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.

Leaving the device in a car on a hot day

Leaving it in direct sunlight for extended amounts of time

Using certain features in hot conditions or direct sunlight for long periods of time, such as GPS tracking in a car on a sunny day or listening to music while in direct sunlight

Please go through Apple’s recommendations for detailed information and better understanding.

Keep your iPhone safe.
