Manase Relax PleaseRecently I posted a blog on Tamil E-Books which contains the PDF version of Manase Relax Please by Swami Sugabothananatha.

Focus on Problems Vs Focus on Solutions

October 6th, 2007 No comments

Focus on ProblemsWhen NASA began the launch of astronauts into space, they found out that the pens wouldn’t work at zero gravity (Ink won’t flow down to the writing surface). In order to solve this problem, they hired Andersen Consulting (Accenture today). It took them one decade and $12 million. They developed a pen that worked at zero gravity, upside down, underwater, in practically any surface including crystal and in a temperature range from below freezing to over 300 degrees C.

And what did Russians do…???

The Russians used a Pencil instead !!!

“If you look at what you do not have in life, you don’t have anything”
“If you look at what you have in life, you have everything.”

In other words, “Focus on problem leads to inventions! & Focus on solution leads to discoveries!”

God gives more

God Gives MoreOnce a boy went to a shop with his mother. The shop keeper looked at the small cute child and showed him a bottle with sweets and said “Dear Child, you can take the sweets”; but the child didn’t take.

The shop keeper was surprised, such a small child he is and why is he not taking the sweets from the bottle. Again he said, “take the sweets”.

Now mother also heard that and said to take the sweets. Yet he didn’t take.

The shopkeeper seeing the child not taking the sweets he himself took the sweets and gave to the child. The child was happy to get two hands full of sweets.

When returned to home Mother asked child, “Why didn’t you take the sweets when shop keeper told you to take?”

Child replies, “Mom! my hands are very small and if I take the sweets I can only take few; but now you see when uncle gave with his big hands, how many more sweets I got!

Moral of the story: When we take we may get little but when God gives, he gives us more beyond our expectations. More than what we can hold.

Your Attitude is Your Altitude

Your Attitude is Your AltitudeA little boy goes into a drug store, reached for a soda carton and pulled it over to the telephone. He climbed onto the carton so that he could reach the buttons on the phone and proceeded to punch in seven digits.

Boy: ” Maam , can you give me the job of cutting your lawn??
Woman: “I already have someone to cut my lawn.”

Boy: Maam, I will cut your lawn for half the price of the person who cuts your lawn now.”

Woman: “Thank you, but I am very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting my lawn.”

However, the little boy was persistent.

Boy: ” Maam , I’ll even sweep your curb and your sidewalk, so on Sunday you will have the prettiest lawn in all of North-Palm beach, Florida .”
Woman: Thanks again, but I am sorry. I just do not find need for a change.

With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver.

The store-owner, who was listening to all this, walked over to the boy and said,

“Son… I like your attitude; I like that positive spirit and would like to offer you a job.”

The little boy replied, “No thanks, I was just checking my performance with the job I already have. I am the one who is working for that lady, I was talking to!”

Don't let the cups drive you… Enjoy the coffee instead!

Coffee CupsA group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor.

Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite – telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other’s cups.

Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn’t change. Some times, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it.”
