Large Hadron Collider (LHC)

Today, 10 Sep 2008, a great day in history. Large Hadron Collider, the device they hope will unravel some of the remaining mysteries of the universe, was activated today at 9:30 am Local time (8:30 am BST).

This is a £5 billion project which is at 300 feet below the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva, the most powerful particle accelerator ever built became fully operational.
