Do you want to reach the sky? It might not be possible for all except the astronauts. But you can send your name to the Moon.

NASA will be sending a spacecraft to the Moon as part of Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) mission.

Names will be collected and placed onboard the LRO spacecraft for its historic mission bringing NASA back to the Moon. You will receive a certificate showcasing your support of the mission. It is a free service and the deadline for submitting names is 27 June 2008.

Spam MailMost of the website collects the email id when you either want to see the contents of the site or download software or something from their sites though they promise you that they keep your email id confidential. You can’t trust all these sites and you will really reluctant to give your email id to some websites.

Hello World

“Hello World” is the first program one usually writes when learning a new programming language.

The first Hello World program appeared in chapter 1.1 of the first edition of Kernighan & Ritchie’s original book about C, “The C Programming Language”, in 1978 and read like this:

main() {

    printf("hello, world");

}

Since then, Hello World has been implemented in just about every programming language on the planet.

Here are some links which has the Hello World programs in various programming languages as well as human languages.

A Versatile Free Online File Converter

June 4th, 2007 Comments off

ZamzarI have been searching for a free online file audio/video conversion utility.

Recently I posted about vixi.net under the same context.

I found a new website which provides Free Online File Conversion.

www.zamzar.com

Zamzar supports conversion between wide varieties of different file formats.

The best part is, Zamzar supports a huge set of file formats (document/image/audio/video).

File conversion is a simple 4 step process.

Once the conversion is done, an email will be sent with the URL where we can find the converted file. Also the converted file will be stored for 24 hours from the time the email is sent.

The limitation is, you can can convert a file of size upto 100 MB. But still I feel that this is reasonable.

You can also directly convert any Youtube/Google Video files from this Free Online utility.

Online Video Converter

Recently I came across a site which provides us a smart utility which converts the Flash Video / FLV file (YouTube’s videos,etc) to MPEG4 (AVI/MOV/MP4/MP3/3GP) file online.

Yes you can convert your online movie clips to video files without using a third party software. vixy.net offers this service for free.

This service allows you convert a Flash Video / FLV file (YouTube’s videos,etc) to MPEG4 (AVI/MOV/MP4/MP3/3GP) file online. It is using a compressed domain transcoder technology (outline in Japanese). It converts FLV to MPEG4 faster and less lossy than a typical transcoder.

When you submit an url, it will download and convert to the video format. Then you can download the converted file.

FLV to MPEG4 Conveter engine is now OpenSource.

Just copy and paste your Youtube link (or others); select the output format and start the conversion. Wait for the file to be converted and download it.

Enjoy!!!
